Charlie Oyama on Mike's Drumming

Mike's playing, besides being flawless (which is pretty much a given), bordered on unbelievable when you consider that he had to capture and enhance a feeling that was in the music Pete and I grew up with, and to a great extent is almost gone, even in Hawaii. Rick had done some of his growing up in Hawaii, so he understood what it was, but Mike and Joseph just blew me away in how easily they felt and expressed what we were trying to do.
